HOW COMPUTERS AFFECT YOUR EYES⠀

HOW COMPUTERS AFFECT YOUR EYES👀⠀

Long story short, there’s no evidence that staring at a computer will cause permanent eye damage.⠀

However, computers can cause some uncomfortable eye-related symptoms in the long term that can be avoided by using some simple practices.⠀

👉The Problem
Nowadays, almost all of us spend a lot of time working with our digital devices and regardless of the opportunities they’ve provided us, there are still some concerns about using them. Can looking at computer screens damage your eyes?⠀

👉Good News
While complaints of eye fatigue and discomfort are common among digital device users, these symptoms are not caused by the screen itself. Digital screens give off little or no harmful radiation (such as x-rays or UV rays).⠀

👉Bad News
Digital screens do expose your eyes to blue light. Blue light exposure you get from screens is small compared to the amount of exposure from the sun. And yet, there is a concern over the long-term effects.⠀

👉The Effects⠀
Eye problems caused by computer use fall under the heading Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). It isn’t one specific problem. It includes a whole range of eye strain and discomfort.⠀

👉Prevention⠀
You can help prevent eye strain by making some changes to your workspace:⠀
- Use programs like f.lux
- Blink more often⠀
- Use computer glasses⠀
- Take short breaks⠀
- Place your screen 20 to 26 inches away from your eyes⠀
